Yoga for Anxiety: Finding Calm in Body and Mind
A 2-hour workshop with Danielle DiCamillo, LCSW & ERYT-200
Anxiety is the most common mental health concern in the U.S., affecting more than 40
million adults. Anxiety doesn't just live in our thoughts. It lives in our bodies, too. Maybe you
notice tension you can't shake, worry that keeps looping, difficulty concentrating, sleepless
nights, or a desire to withdraw from others. When we begin to notice where anxiety lives
within us, we can open the door to healing.
In this workshop, we will explore and identify different ways anxiety has been impacting on
your day-to-day lives. You’ll learn how anxiety affects the nervous system and discover
simple yoga tools to help you feel calmer and more grounded. Through gentle movement
(asana), breathing practices (pranayama), grounding practices, and supportive group
discussion (always optional), you'll leave with practices you can use whenever anxiety
arises.
What We'll Explore
• Understanding physical tension held in the body
• Quieting worry, rumination, and repetitive thoughts
• Improving focus and supporting restful sleep
• Softening negative self-talk
Workshop Flow
• Welcome and introduction to anxiety and the nervous system
• Journal prompt and group sharing (optional)
